Hogueras de la modernidad: demonólogos, brujas y magos de Edimburgo
Durante los siglos XVI y XVII, Europa se vio sumida en una ola de persecusiones, histeria y superstición. Miles de mujeres fueron señaladas como hechiceras por transgredir el sistema que habitaban y ejecutadas bajo el cargo de brujería. Muchas poseían conocimientos de medicina, eran habilidosas políticas o sabían cómo administrar sus finanzas. Escocia no fue la excepción y en este tour te contaremos cómo repercutió el proceso en Edimburgo, aprendiendo sobre los orígenes de la Caza de Brujas; los juicios de North Berwick que inspiraron a Shakespeare a escribir Macbeth; el rey Jacobo y sus estudios sobre demonología; acerca de algunas brujas que dieron vida a personajes de la serie Outlander y mucho más.
Recorreremos callejones de la Royal Mile, también Calton Hill para conocer sobre la simbología de las hogueras y el rol del presbiteriano John Knox. A su vez aprenderemos sobre algunos ocultistas y terminaremos en las inmediaciones del castillo para conocer el final de un proceso histórico que se cobró miles de vidas inocentes.
